The Battalion received its preliminary training in the Baccarat Sector, relieving the 304th Machine Gun Battalion on 2 August, 1918. While in the Baccarat Sector many harrassing fire problems and covering fire for raids were carried out against the Germans.

The 134th Machine Gun Battalion was further engaged in the battle of the Argonne from 26 September to 1 October. Co. B suffered the loss of its captain, Francis R McCook, with several men killed and many wounded.

On 5 October the battalion was placed in the Pannes Sector (St. Mihiel) holding the forward lines around Jaulney and Thiaucourt; these positions were occupied until 17 October when the 37th Division moved to Belgium.

In Belgium the 134th Machine Gun Battalion participated in the Ypres-Lys offensive from 31 October to 3 November, and in the Oise-Aisne offensive from 9-11 November. When the Armistice ended hostilities the battalion was near Synghem, Belgium.
